Words of Light: Grace & Truth for Your Journey Home
“Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.”[i]
The church isn’t made up of experts, just real people using the talents God has given them in ordinary ways.
Extraordinary should not be a rarity. Extraordinary should be faithfully giving a little extra of the ordinary.
“Do ordinary things with extraordinary love.”[ii]
Perfection is not attained in an elusive performance of flawlessness, but through the consecration of His holiness.
“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us.”[iii]
Be courageous. Be vulnerable. Be deliberate and bold. Be humble and approachable. Be real. Be a Kingdom Builder for God’s glory by His Grace.
The Master Builder does not give talents too insignificant to use in His Kingdom.
So, the next time you get the chance, and you actually want to sing that solo, audition. Or whatever it is that you don’t feel good enough to do—even if “someone else” would do a better job.
Let Him Shine.

“Extraordinary should not be a rarity. Extraordinary should be faithfully giving a little extra of the ordinary.” Yes. To the whole blog post. Living boldly and vulnerably is in no way easy, but I am a firm believer that it’s the type of living that we are called to!
