He Is: How to Find Truth in God’s Names

In a world that whirls out of control, He is The Great, the Mighty, and Awesome God, the Eternal Refuge, the Rock of My Strength.

To a world that is sick and broken, He is the Great Physician, Jehovah-Rapha, The Lord Who Heals you.

To a people, who grieve their losses, He is a Man of Sorrows, acquainted with grief, a God of patience and consolation.

To each minority group who feels unnoticed, to each faithful worker who feels underappreciated, to the child who feels unloved, He is El Roi, God Who sees.

To each soul limping in loneliness, He is Emmanuel, God with Us, the Faithful and True,

And for each soul losing hope, He is the Blessed Hope, the Hope of Nations, Comforter, Counselor, Confidence.

In a world shadowed in evil and darkness, He is the Dayspring from on High, the Light of the Nations, the Light of the World.

To a world that’s lost its way, He says, “I am The Way, The Truth, The Life. I am the Good Shepherd.”

In a world that’s lost its moral compass, where those we’d trust to keep the peace are breaking it instead, He is Our Lawgiver, The Just One, Shalom—Peace.

In the noisy world of social media, where too much is said and too little is heard, He is still the final, unbroken, unquenchable Word, the Author of Peace, A Consuming Fire.

To a people who can no longer discern truth, He is the God that Cannot Lie, The God Only Wise—Only Wise.

Astoundingly, He loves you and I.

And even more surprisingly, He longs for us to love Him back. This is the reason why a baby lay in a manger, a carpenter became a teacher, a common man died a Saviour, that God man rose a Victor. He knew we’d lost hope of coming to Him, so He came to us.

This is the Gospel.

In every season, God is.
